The government has decided to provide a one-time admission assistance of Tk 6,000 to poor and meritorious students admitted to class XI and first year of Alim in the academic year 2025-26. This information was given in a notification signed by Smriti Karmakar, Managing Director (Additional Secretary) of the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust.

Government Scholarship for Students 2026
The notification said that students admitted to class XI and first year of Alim in all government and private educational institutions of the country under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Directorate of Technical Education and Directorate of Madrasa Education will be considered eligible for this assistance. According to the 2026 guideline, admission grants are provided at different education levels:
Grant Amount by Level:
- Secondary Level: 4,000 BDT
- Higher Secondary (Class XI/Alim): 6,000 BDT
- Undergraduate & Equivalent: 8,000 BDT
6,000 BDT Grant for Class XI & Alim Students (2025–26)
Students admitted to Class XI and Alim 1st year in the 2025–26 academic session will receive a one-time grant of 6,000 BDT.

✅ Certificate/recommendation letter from the head of the institution where the parent/guardian works (applicable to 20th grade children of employees working in government/semi-government/autonomous/constitutional institutions)*

The notification regarding eligibility and conditions of application states that to get admission assistance, the student must have secured a minimum of 60 percent marks in the previous class or 3.50 percent marks if GPA is 5.00.
It states that the annual income of the guardian must be less than 3 lakh taka. Also, orphans, disabled, children of freedom fighters and children of 20th grade government employees must upload the necessary certificates along with the application.
The application must include a clear copy of the ‘handicapped’ certificate of the local public representative, certificate of the head of the institution, birth certificate, NID of the parents and online bank account information.
Deadline for receiving admission assistance
The money is sent within 30 (thirty) working days from the last date of application submission. If the student is finally selected for admission assistance, he/she is informed via SMS on his/her mobile.

No hard copy submission is required

The notification states that since the entire process is online-based, there is no need to send any hard copy of the application directly to the trust. After submitting the application along with the required documents, a high-level committee will scrutinize it. After that, 6 thousand taka will be sent directly to the online bank account of the student or guardian in favor of the finally selected students.
